Department of Geology
The Department of Geology was established in the year 1960 under the supervision and guidance of Dr. M. S. Krishna , the then Director-General of Geological Survey of India and Prof. Y. J. Rao, Founder, Head , Department of Geology, Osmania University. The Department is equipped with photo gallery, huge collection of tools, images, and static models to study Earth Science. The Department is interdisciplinary in its combination with Mathematics and Botany. It is collaborated with Geology Survey of India, a premier Earth Science Organization, and National Remote Sensing Agency to train students in GIS Data systems. A Protocol is signed with CADD center of JNTU and ITC to offer a Diploma Program in Geographic Information system on the innovative use of GIS technology.
